David Moliner Andrés was born on May 23, 1991. A Spanish musician, multi-faceted artist, percussion soloist and composer, David Moliner Andrés is described as one of the most promising artists of his generation.

His compositional aesthetics are grounded in the use of drama with the musician as an expressive agent. This area of avant-garde creation is based mainly in Berlin and Paris.

He studied composition, percussion and music theater at Conservatorio Superior Castellón, Centro Superior Katarina Gurska (Spain), Haute École de Musique de Genève (Switzerland), Universität der Künste Berlin (Germany), and his most influential teachers have been Voro García and Pascal Dusapin. He is now composer in residence (as an artist diploma composer) at Barenboim Said Akademie Berlin with composer Jörg Widmann.

As a composer, some of his important commissions have included those for Lorelai Dowling (member of Klangforum Wien), Pierre Strauch (member of the Ensemble Intercontemporain of Paris), Christian Dierstein (member of Ensemble Recherche in Freiburg), the Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (JORCAM) Ensemble 20/21, Teatros del Canal (Madrid) and Mostra Sonora de Sueca (Valencia) in 2016 with Jordi Francés, in addition to Orquesta Sinfónica de Castellón, the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE), and Orchester der UdK Berlin. He has also been invited to perform with Espai Sonor, together with the music of Héctor Parra, Olga Neuwrith, Voro García, Alberto Posadas, Aureliano Cattaneo and others at concerts in Bilbao (BBVA Festival) and Valencia (Ensems Festival), along with the Congreso de Música de Oporto (Essenz Duo), Festival de las Artes de México (contemporary sax music) and Buconfest Colombia, among others.

As a percussionist / freelance artist, he has given numerous recitals in the realm of music theater in addition to shows all over Europe, performing works by José Luís López López, Jesús Torres, Iannis Xennakis, J.S. Bach, F. Sarhan, F. Mache, Brian Ferneyhough, Philippe Manoury, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Bruno Mantovani, among others, as well as by the artist himself. He has won several prizes, such as the Composition Prize Dávalos Fletcher, III Premio de Moros d’Alqueria in music and composition, International Italy Percussion Competition in vibraphone and Stipendium Prize-Universität der Künste Berlin, and has played in important concert halls such as Berlin Philarmonie, Elbphilarmonie in Hamburg, KKL Luzern, Kleiner Konzertsaal München and Philharmonie de Paris.

He has played with orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra. He has also played under the baton of conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Peter Eötvös and Matthias Pintscher.

He has received praise from musicians and ensembles including the Arditti String Quartet, Ensemble Recherche, Michael Jarrell, Franck Bedrossian, Pascal Dusapin, Elena Mendoza, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Intercontemporain and the musicians of the Berliner Philarmoniker, among others.

As a percussionist/ freelance composer, he has given master classes at Centro Superior Musikene-San Sebastián and Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.

His works are published by Paris BabelScores and he is an exclusive Adams Percussion Holland artist. He is also professor of composition at Centro Superior Progreso Musical Madrid and professor of dramatic arts in solo performance at Centro Superior Katarina Gurska in Madrid.

He resides among Castellón, Madrid and Berlin.
