Born in Valencia in 1975, Miguel Gironés Cervera began his musical education at the age of 10 and would go on to study violin, piano, organ, musicology and composition.
In 2002, he passed the Spanish public competition in composition fundamentals.
As an organist, he has performed concerts on the great Cabanilles organ in Iglesia de la Compañía church in Valencia as part of the cycles regularly celebrated at Advent, Lent and Easter. He has also played in San Sebastián at the Donostia-San Sebastián Musical Fortnight and in Montblanc (Spain).
He earned his master’s degree in music at the Universitat Politècnica de València, publishing part of his thesis in the Quodlibet journal (February 2010), which is published by Aula de Música de la Universidad de Alcalá. He recently published an article in Quodlibet again, this time on Debussy’s Préludes.
His compositions include Sonata para viola y piano, La marcha procesional para banda, Timete Deum and Concertino para ocho violas.
