The Master's academic year will run from September 2026 to June 2027.

Master's Overview
The Master's Degree in Advanced Artistic Teachings of Musical Performance and Applied Research in Musical Practice is structured around two main modules; one theoretical and one specializing in performance and research to provide the analytical, technological and methodological tools necessary for 21st century artist-researchers.

Innovation in interpretation and research
The purpose of the master's degree is to offer advanced musical training with a A team of leading teachers with a recognized international projection in all instrumental specialties. At the same time giving a special dimension to the artistic creation through research applied to musical practice, with a unique team of internationally renowned researchers in various fields of musical research, and especially the Artistic Research.
Since the implementation of the master's degree in the 2022/23 academic year, the invaluable teaching potential of ESMAR, and a marked multidisciplinary methodological approach, has led us to design a Flexible and transdisciplinary curriculum to provide tools to our students; who will become professionals in The multifaceted musical ecosystem of the 21st century.

To provide and develop in students the skills, knowledge and artistic understanding in the field of music, as well as originality in the development and application of ideas, in the practical and creative sphere, with a research dimension.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
To access official Master's courses, it will be necessary to be in possession of:
- An official Higher Degree in artistic education, an official Graduate degree or its equivalent issued by an institution in the European Higher Education Area that qualifies students in the country issuing the degree for access to Master's courses.
- Likewise, graduates from educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area may access the programme without the need for their qualifications to be recognised, subject to verification by the competent educational authority that they certify an equivalent level of training. Access via this route will not, under any circumstances, imply the recognition of the previous qualification held by the interested party, nor its recognition for any purpose other than to study the artistic Master's courses."
- A specific requirement will be to prove a higher degree in their instrumental or vocal specialty, as established in Art. 16 of RD 1614/2009 (consolidated text).
MASTER'S DEGREE ACCESS TEST
The Academic Committee will be responsible for selecting students following the following procedures and criteria:
- Audition of the candidate before a panel, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes, with a work or works of the instrumental or vocal specialty for which he/she is applying (50%). The maximum score for this section will be 10 points. It will be an essential requirement to obtain a minimum score of 5 (on a scale of 1 to 10) in this section in order to be admitted to the Master's degree. The audition will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- Musical difficulty of the piece. Maximum score: 2,5 points.
- Difficulties and technical aspects of the piece: Emission and articulation (wind instruments); bow strokes (string instruments); weight technique and brachial impulses (Piano); tuning; phrasing; sound quality; control of rhythm and tempo. Maximum score 5 points.
- Faithfulness to the score. Maximum score. Appropriateness and stylistic characterization. Maximum score of 2,5 points.
- Candidate's CV (50%). The maximum score for this section will be 10 points. The score limits established for each of the following subsections must also be taken into account:
- Evaluation of academic records. Maximum score: 5 points.
- Teaching experience in the Music and Performing Arts Teaching Staff with specialties related to the contents of the Master's Degree (with specialties in musical performance/interpretation). Maximum score of 3 points.
- Teaching experience in the Music and Performing Arts Teaching Corps with specialties related to the contents of the Master's Degree (with specialties in musical performance/interpretation). Maximum score of 2 points.
- Experience in research and teaching innovation. Maximum score of 3 points
- Artistic experience with the corresponding specialty. Maximum score of 3 points
- Maximum score of 2 points.
- Maximum score of 2 points.
- Other Higher Qualifications. Maximum score of 2 points.
Tiebreakers. In the event that ties arise when ranking the selected students, these will be resolved by taking into account the criterion of highest score in the subsections of the section corresponding to the candidate's curriculum, in the order in which they appear in the list above.
TIMING OF PERFORMANCES
Applicants must complete the pre-registration form.
They must attach the registration fee receipt, a copy of the required degree and the curriculum with the merits and their justification.
The registration fee is €60.
FIRST CALL:
The registration period will start on February 16, 2026.
The selection process will take place during the months of June and July. The calendar will be published one month in advance.
SECOND CALL:
The second call will be organized if there are vacant positions to be filled.
Classes for the master's degree will begin in October 2026.
Registered students may request a simulation of the test with the Instrument/Voice teacher they wish to study with.
PAYMENT METHOD
Students will pay the amount of €600 once they have been selected in September. The remainder will be paid in monthly installments from October 2026 to May 2027.
