Claiming grades

Procedure for students to claim assessments and grades.

For claims regarding grades that occur at ESMAR, the following procedure will be followed:

  1. Students must first contact their teacher to request clarification and justification of the grades obtained. Teachers must justify the grade based on the assessment criteria and procedures established in their own Teaching Guide and the results of the tests and other means that served as a judgement for obtaining the grade claimed.
  2. If, once the requested clarifications have been made by the teaching staff in light of the evidence and other means that served as elements of judgment for grading, the claim is maintained, it must be submitted by completing the following duly motivated form addressed to the management of ESMAR within three working days following the day on which the grade was publicly notified.
  3. To make a claim, the form will be available to students.
  4. The ESMAR management will issue – and notify – an opinion within five days of receiving the claim, in light of the report drawn up by the professor of the affected student and the report drawn up by the ESMAR Studies Committee, which will include for the occasion professors of the same specialty and the head of the Department that includes the professor of the subject subject of the claim.
