Rules for the Regulation of the mention of "Matrícula de Honor"
According to Decree 48/2011, of May 6:
5. The distinction may be awarded to students who have obtained a grade equal to or greater than 9.0. Their number may not exceed five percent of the students enrolled in a subject in the corresponding academic year, unless the number of students enrolled is less than 20, in which case only one distinction may be awarded.
For all these reasons, ESMAR establishes the following procedure for granting the “Matrícula de Honor” mention:
- The professor of each subject may award the “MATRICULA DE HONOR” Mention to those students who have obtained a grade equal to or greater than 9.0.
- A mention with this grade may only be awarded if there are fewer than 20 students enrolled in this subject.
- If the number of students enrolled in that subject is between 20 and 30, two honors may be awarded.
- If there are more than 30 students enrolled, a maximum of 5 Honors may be awarded.
- In those subjects that have more than one teacher, an agreement between them will be necessary for the granting of Honors.
- Teachers may establish in their Teaching Guides the criteria, procedures and evaluation instruments for regulating this procedure.
- The academic management of ESMAR will finally authorize these proposals from the teaching staff.
- These grades will appear in each student's individual record.
- Obtaining this distinction will not entail any exemption or financial benefit for students.
- Honors will be awarded once the evaluation process has been completed in the ordinary and extraordinary calls for each academic year.
